Although we had prepared the box for the insulation, it still had it's original roof vents fitted. We planned to instal 'Mini Heiki' roof lights (a caravan type sky light). So this meant our first job was to remove the old vents and cut and frame holes ready for the new roof vents. The square holes are a standard 40mm X 40mm.

Here's the action...

Now that the holes were made, we could start gluing the X-Trem insulation onto the walls. We used a solvent contact adhesive to bond them to the walls and ceiling. For the ceiling we used 15mm X-trem and for the walls we used 10mm. So this combined with the rock-wool already inside the walls should provide good thermal and acoustic inulation. The X-trem was easy to work with, though using a contact adhesive means you only get one shot at getting it into position. Here's how we managed...

 

The last job involving the X-trem was to run some wires for the ceiling lighting. I simply channeled out grooves and glued the wires up ready for the ply lining...
